Kenny Mossman was called as pastor on Feb. 1, 2022, after serving more than a year as interim pastor at First Baptist Carnegie. He entered the pastorate after a career in athletics administration at three NCAA Division I universities. He concluded his work in athletics with 20 years at the University of Oklahoma, where he supervised the department's external operations.
Kenny was ordained for ministry at his former church, Emmaus Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. He has preached at and spoken at numerous churches and Christian events in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas. In addition, he has chaired the Oklahoma Baptist ERLC committee and twice chaired the state board for the Oklahoma Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
While at OU, Kenny taught a course in sports public relations and received the Gaylord College of Journalism's inaugural David Kelso Award as the outstanding adjunct faculty member in 2021. He holds an undergraduate degree from Southwestern (Kan.) College, where he is a member of the athletics hall of fame, and a master's degree in communications from Kansas State. He also has begun work on a master of theological studies degree at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Kenny and his wife, Amy, have four children, Scott, Matt, Hannah and Andrew.
